CBT and EMDR for young people age 13+

What I offer

It's completely normal to have a lot on your mind. Being a teenager can be complicated, and sometimes you might feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or difficult experiences. Seeking mental health support through therapy can provide a confidential space to figure things out, get a bit of a reset, and learn new ways to manage tough feelings. I specialise in two types of therapy that are proven to help young people: CBT therapy and EMDR therapy. I offer online therapy options through South West Therapies to ensure you have access to the support you need.

CBT

CBT therapy helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are all interconnected. It's a practical type of talking therapy that offers you real-life tools to improve your well-being.

We'll work together to:

- Identify unhelpful thoughts that may be contributing to your stress or low mood.

- Challenge your perspective on overwhelming situations.

- Develop coping skills you can apply every day for better mental health support and a greater sense of control.

I've completed additional training approved by the BPS (British Psychological Society), ensuring that our approach to CBT therapy is tailored specifically for young people.

If you're looking for online therapy options, South West Therapies is here to help.

EMDR

Sometimes, a past event can get "stuck" in your brain, causing flashbacks, nightmares, or strong emotions. EMDR therapy is a powerful form of mental health support that helps your brain reprocess these difficult memories, allowing them to bother you less.

During EMDR therapy, we'll use a gentle, rhythmic process to facilitate your brain's healing. As a result, you might find that you feel:

- More relaxed when you think about the memory.

- Less overwhelmed by flashbacks.

- More confident and less controlled by the past.

Additionally, I've done advanced training in EMDR for children and young people, ensuring you receive an expert, age-appropriate approach. For those seeking therapy options, including online therapy, South West Therapies offers both EMDR and CBT therapy to support your journey.
